Overview

The Economic Reasoning Initiative organizes an online economics and business competition for high-school students living in the United States, Washington DC or US territories.

Eligibility

Entrants must be aged 13–18 on 22 February 2027 or attend high school in grades 9–12, including homeschool. Students compete individually.

Events

Choose Economics and Policy, Finance and Investment, Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or Markets and Consumer Strategy. Online regionals take place on 22 February 2027, followed by online nationals on 27 March.

Fees and prizes

Registration costs US$25 per student. The organizer advertises at least US$2,000 in total cash prizes across the five events.
