About This Competition
Madrid City Council’s Moncloa-Aravaca district is holding the eleventh Artemisia Painting Competition in 2026. The first prize is €5,000. Applications are open October 13 to November 3, 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either Spanish nationals or foreign residents of Spain. Madrid City Council employees and jury members cannot participate. This is not an unrestricted international competition.
Artwork and application
Register through the official municipal electronic office or designated physical registry. Applicants must arrange an appointment by emailing cultumoncloa@madrid.es to deliver their original painting to Centro Cultural Juan Genovés. Paintings may use an open theme and technique; official dimensions and presentation rules apply. Check the municipal notice before preparing the work.
